Fees range from $130 to $160 depending on the Psychologist you see. Sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
Rebates may be available through Medicare and Private Health Insurance. If you are eligible for a Medicare Rebate your “out of pocket” expense after this rebate will be between $42 and $50 per session.
For your convenience our practice offers Eftpos, Medicare Easyclaim and HICAPS facilities for payments. With Medicare Easyclaim your Medicare Rebate can be directed into your Cheque or Savings Account, so that you will not need to attend a Medicare Office. Alternatively, if you wish to use your private health fund, we can organise your rebate at the time of the consultation so you only have to pay the gap.
Medicare now offers rebates for Australian citizens who visit their Psychologist. You do need however to first visit your General Practitioner (GP) and explain your mental health concerns and obtain a referral. It is polite to book a longer consultation with your GP so that they have adequate time to develop a care plan with you. Your GP will give you a referral called a “Mental Health Care Plan”, which entitles you to Medicare Rebates. All you need to do is bring this referral to your first consultation at BlueSky Psychology and our staff will organise the rest. You are entitled up to to 12 sessions in a calendar year (January to December).
A substantial proportion of your consultation fee may be reclaimed through private health funds. Our Psychologists are registered with all major health insurers. Our office has HICAPS facilities so if you bring your health fund card we can organise your rebate at the time of the consultation. If you would like to know the amount of rebate prior to your first session you will need to contact your health fund.
