Amanda is a Registered Psychologist who has completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is currently undertaking the Registrar program for endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.

Amanda is keen to work with a wide range of client groups with varying presenting concerns, and tailor assessment/treatment approaches to client needs using best evidence-based practice. She has experience in treating depression, anxiety (generalised or social), post-traumatic stress disorder, panic, eating binges, obsessive/perfectionistic compulsions, anger, stress, grief and loss, and suicidal thinking. Amanda has also worked with clients experiencing cancer related distress due to recent diagnosis, treatment decisions/effects, and existential concerns.

Amanda has research experience in posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and moral injury in military personnel, in addition to her own previous employment experience as a soldier and police officer, so she can understand some of the specific challenges faced by those working in these roles.

Amanda primarily uses a cognitive behavior therapy approach, but she also incorporates elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices. Amanda intends to expand her use of therapy modalities over time.

Amanda consults at BlueSky Psychology on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
