Amanda is a Registered Psychologist, who has completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is currently undertaking the Registrar program for endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.

Amanda is keen to work with a wide range of client groups with varying presenting concerns, and tailor assessment/treatment approaches to client needs using best evidence-based practice. She has experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments on children of different ages, but is most suited to working with those over 8 years of age. Amanda also has experience assessing and treating Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, suicidal thoughts, and grief and loss issues. Additionally, she has worked with many clients experiencing cancer related distress due to recent diagnosis, treatment decisions/effects, and existential concerns.

Amanda has research experience in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Moral Injury among the military population, in addition to her own previous employment experience as a soldier and police officer, so she can appreciate some of the specific challenges faced by those working in these roles.

Amanda primarily uses a Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach, but she also incorporates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness practices. Amanda intends to expand her knowledge and use of therapy modalities over time.

Amanda consults at BlueSky Psychology on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
