“Benita is a provisional psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and enrolled in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) program at Flinders University.
She is an empathetic and respectful practitioner who is passionate for learning and committed to achieving successful client outcomes. Benita understands the importance of forming a trusted therapeutic relationship and adopts a collaborative approach to ensure her practise is client-focused and inclusive.
Benita develops a tailored and evidence-based approach that primarily draws on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Benita has experience in treating a range of mental health issues, including stress, social anxiety, generalised anxiety, low mood and depression.
She also has specialised experience in delivering psychological treatment for Insomnia and Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder (DSPD) in infants, children and adolescents using targeted interventions including sleep restriction, stimulus control therapy, cognitive restructuring and exposure therapy. She has also been involved in extensive research relating to sleep disorders and technology use in teenagers.
Benita consults at BlueSky Psychology on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.”
