Ellie is a provisional psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and enrolled in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) program at Flinders University. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Ellie is a curious, understanding, and compassionate practitioner who has experience providing support for individuals from a range of backgrounds. Ellie focuses on developing a trusting therapeutic relationship, where clients can feel respected, understood, and supported.
Ellie integrates therapeutic approaches to individually tailor her work with young people and adults. She primarily draws on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Ellie can share with you established and emerging evidence-based insights and practical strategies to guide you through a range of challenges, including: perfectionism, generalised anxiety or excessive worry, social anxiety, low mood and depression, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, panic, and phobias. Ellie also uses a strength-based perspective in which she draws on the strengths of the individual, and focuses on building confidence and self-esteem in sessions, in addition to addressing areas of difficulties and challenges.
Ellie is currently conducting her master’s research on perfectionism as a transdiagnostic factor. She is interested in how Perfectionism underpins many disorders, including anxiety, depression and OCD. Her research also focuses on the difference between pursuing excellence and setting high standards, and pursuing rigid, unhealthy standards of perfectionism.
Outside of work you will find Ellie exploring nature, reading about philosophy, art and psychology, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
Ellie consults at BlueSky Psychology on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
