Tina Makris

Tina is a compassionate and motivated Psychologist. She has recently completed her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Adelaide.
She values building a warm, friendly and collaborative therapeutic environment and is not shy of having a laugh in the process. She has experience in treating a range of mental health concerns, including depression, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance use disorders, gambling, suicidal thoughts and self-harm. Tina believes in individually tailoring her therapeutic approach to each client, using evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-based strategies.
Born and raised in a rural setting, Tina has enjoys working with people from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and values inclusivity and respect of all clients. She has previously worked within public health system, child protection, rural and remote South Australia and private practice setting providing psychological treatment and assessment.
Tina holds membership with the Australian Psychological Society and consults at BlueSky Psychology on Mondays to Thursdays.
